Scott and I went to visit Evani's family in one of the suburbs of Salvador, Paripe. Mark and Evani often go there on the weekends and I arranged to have a cooking lesson with Evani's sisters. Scott and I learned to cook moqueca, fish stew with coconut milk, palm oil and cilantro.

We also learned to cook black eyed peas Bahia style, which includes shrimp, ginger, onions and other good stuff.

Comments:
Que lindo rapaz! How I very much miss the moqueca and streets of Brasil! I'll sooo be looking forward to your return, when you can share stories, pictures, and some comida brasileira with all of the hometown gang.

Lot's been going on the republic of Boulder of late. Been working ever patiently on the decorative side of my berimbau. The gourd we made cracked, I think primarily out of spite, and I am now forced to look for a new more resilient one. Also been busy exploring all of the Capoeira groups in Boulder -- Regional included. I did five days of Capoeira last week and my body now hates me.

More later....

Me da mais fotos estorias meus irmao!
